Queerness is about creating space for otherness in ways that center inclusivity, ensuring no one feels othered in the process. Queerness is also never accepting a situation just because it is given, but to look for possibilities beyond the obvious

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

The culture of boundary-pushing live performances in NYC. Also installation art by David Altmejd and Felix Gonzalez Torres. Their works explore identity, transformation, and intimacy in ways that resonate with queerness as both a concept and an experience.

Which other queer people inspire you?

The Generations Project - which collects oral history of LGBTQ+ people of all ages through storytelling. Intergenerational Storytelling was heavily impacted by the AIDS epidemic, but their workshops and shows give us an opportunity to see and hear the stories of our queer elders.
