How does being queer inform your work?

As a gay person who's had to resist conventional definitions, I encourage authenticity above all else. Identity design and branding feels like second nature to me, because I'm experienced in having to find my own voice among the cluttered traditional spaces. I guide my clients to reflect their unique purpose and perspective based on their authentic values and character —inspiring them to break their tendency to mimic other brands and be proud of who they truly are.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I love the way the queer community defy establishment and celebrates the ambiguity of the self. Queer art is kin to protest, punk, and resistance —and it shows in many forms, from the use of color, typography, shape and how it intentionally breaks what's expected.
