How does being queer inform your work?

As someone who lives in a country that persecutes every type of queer person, I only have freedom to be myself in my artwork in secrecy. Despite so, I have been able to find and connect with fellow queer folk through art and we build each other up trying to survive here.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

While I can't really place a favourite singular piece per se, I've always enjoyed the art of my peers, especially fellow transmasculine folk unapologetically drawing every type of us out there, not just the waif, pretty, able-bodied, white and minimal scarred ones.

Which other queer people inspire you?

The other queer people that inspire me the most are queer elders, those who had to go through a period of confusion and non-understanding of their identity, or the ones who have always had the queer experience something deeply ingrained in their culture already. I wish I had more queer elders in my life.
