How does being queer inform your work?

To be honest, my queerness has been more of a recent discovery for me, somewhat made after I already started my design career. I have recently begun to have a much stronger desire to make my queer identity a core part of my work, and am currently reading through Queer x Design for the first time to become more educated on the history and aware of my place in that world.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I think my favorite at the moment would be the collection of pride flags that have blossomed over the last few decades and that continue to do so. I think they are such iconic representations of the queer movement, and the simple act of browsing through these flags usually results in my learning about a new identity - an act of discovery that I've come to love during my own journey!

Which other queer people inspire you?

There are soo many honestly, and most are musical artists: Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, Rina Sawayama, Amaarae, Arca. Also Hunter Schafer for sure!
