With roots from Los Angeles, Olivia is a creative designer + illustrator striving to communicate purpose beyond craft, and a love for branding, UX/UI, and systems design.

How does being queer inform your work?

Diversity and inclusion in all my digital design and illustration is always in mind with all I make, and who I serve even if indirectly. Showing androgynous, genderqueer and multiple representations in my design work makes it well-rounded and subconsciously informed. I have also done projects with beloved queer organizations such as AIDS Life/Cycle, Double Vision: The Musical, and more.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

One of my favorite pieces of queer visual culture is the contemporary art installation "Untitled" (Perfect Lovers) by Felix Gonzalez-Torres. These two clocks set at the same time, slowly drifting apart overtime, with the acknowledgement that there is always a chance to reset the clocks in the future. It's a lovely bittersweet story from Gonzalez-Torres' personal life that I connect to on a different level with people I care about in my own.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Inspired by Audre Lorde, Alison Bechdel, Laverne Cox, Kathy Tu, Tobin Low, Bowen Yang, Hannah Gadsby, Hayley Kiyoko and more I will add on!
