I am a queer and nonbinary graphic designer, I love working on identity design, which can include motion, publication and typography design.

How does being queer inform your work?

Sometimes being queer informs my work when I am pulling from my own experience, like when I am making work for queer people, or to heal or express my own experience. But sometimes being queer informs my work by asking me to step back and question if there is anyone my work is excluding? Am I asserting an exclusive normativity in my work right now? I think queerness often informs my stepping back and reassessing of my values.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

Unapologetic expressiveness, whether it be through fashion or graphic design.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Claude Cahun, a queer surrealist photographer, is actually the person who made me realize I was nonbinary. Learning about how their Judaism and queerness influenced their work was not only really cool, but helped me realize that I can be that too. Learning about how they used design to fight Nazi's was pretty sick.
