How does being queer inform your work?

Being queer motivates my work to present and stand differently as art created by my true self. Even if the work doesn’t call to have explicit implication of my queerness and identity, the work I create will always stand proud to myself as being different behind the artist that created it.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

The colorful nature of queer art which also welcomes many undertones and meanings in the work. I love type and am proud of who I am. Signs of protest created and lettered by queer people are some of my favorite parts of the visual culture.

Which other queer people inspire you?

The queer people that inspire me most are Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. What they have done and started for queer and trans individuals like myself cannot be underestimated. They are living legends of queer culture and they inspire and remind me what my identity and queerness stand for.
