How does being queer inform your work?

I find a lot of joy in being queer and the exploration of both identity and culture it entails. I think I'm also more empathetic to the unique identities and diversity of the people I serve in my job.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I love the show Gentleman Jack. It explores a really interesting example of how queer women lived in the past. Anne Lister was a complex person and of course I loved all the costumes.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Mary Oliver is my favorite poet and inspires me to appreciate the details of nature. Bell Hooks is a powerful contemporary philosopher and her work has helped me shape my relationships. Chappell Roan, Sammy Rae, and Odie Leigh are all musicians making music about queer experiences that I love.
