Hi 👋, I’m Tomm and I’m doing my PhD exploring how social platforms shape the experiences of queer young men.

How does being queer inform your work?

My research explores how queer young men use social platforms.My queerness informs my work and the desire to improve social technologies for other queer people gives it purpose.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I've recently come across posters created locally in Sydney in the 70s, 80s and 90s that were unashamed in their portrayals of queerness and in fighting for the community through queer liberation movements and the AIDS crisis. They also have really fun and colourful designs.
