Phillip Johnson here! Queer/Latinx Ecuadorian American. Love designing with inclusivity + accessibility in mind - to help tell your story.

How does being queer inform your work?

As a queer Ecuadorian-American, I've found the merging of these cultures has resulted in the birth of my constant exploration of the meaning + impact of multiculturalism. Celebrating my heritage and queerness allows me to be fully present in travel, work and social connections; and through this, create work that has an influence beyond artificial social constructs.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

In general, I love seeing queer love represented and documented in photography or videos. Seeing myself and how I love shown back to me in brand adverts or art fuels my ongoing hope for an equitable society.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Honestly, my queer siblings are very inspirational to me. Because they are younger, I see them approach the world with a boldness that I deeply respect. And one I wish I had when I was a youth!
