How does being queer inform your work?

I work on design and research projects directed towards feminist and lesbian communities, which makes my work both personal and well-informed. I believe in situated knowledge, as well as in design and research made by community for community.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

Claude Cahun's self portraits really amaze me. She completely exploded what people assumed about gender roles at the time. More contemporarily, I am very inspired by Girls Like Us magazine, in terms of content and graphic design.

Which other queer people inspire you?

I find most of my inspirations in books and literature, the most influential authors for me at the moment are Alison Bechdel, Audre Lorde, Virginies Despentes, Monique Wittig, Angela Davis, Leslie Feinberg, Griselda Pollock, Carolin Emcke and Eileen Myles.
