How does being queer inform your work?

my inspirations and experiences form all of my art that i produce, including my design. my cover letter, resume, and portfolio are all inspired by the movie Legally Blonde. watching Elle Woods find her confidence in her femininity meant so much to me as a child because i was learning to deal with my queer/feminine side this character was an example of someone who could do it well. the scene where she prints out her pink resume and sprays it with perfume sits in my mind forever and has given me the confidence to be loudly and proudly queer with my presence in the design community

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

my favorite piece of queer visual culture is the rainbow. the history behind the rainbow flag and the meaning behind each color has been so profound for our community that it is till the most common way we identify ourselves to this day. whether it be a rainbow bandana, shirt, flag, cup, emoji, what have you, it's a timeless representation that stamps my identity on whatever part of my life i choose to do so

Which other queer people inspire you?

i'm constantly inspired by drag artists because i believe drag to be the most fiercely political form of queer art because it challenges so many social norms at once and has a long history in the queer community that focuses on community, expression, and celebration of life. being from chicago i'm inspired by performers like Shea Coulee, Trixie Mattel, Noami Smalls, as well as other performers such as Tenderoni, Ramona Slick, and Miss Toto
