How does being queer inform your work?

In my role as a designer and mentor across various educational institutions, I strongly believe in the importance of promoting representation and fostering a diverse talent pool within the creative industries. I consider it crucial for advancing equality for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Whenever the chance arises to advocate for diverse exposure or shed light on diversity issues in the global context, I make it a priority to do so.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

In my perspective, the most significant and influential manifestation of queer design lies in the flags embraced by our community. These flags serve as a vibrant symbol of our queer vitality and assert our unwavering presence in society.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Undoubtedly, the queer artist who inspires me the most is Gilbert Baker—the visionary behind the iconic pride flag, which marked the beginning of a profound movement. This symbol unites a community that has historically fought and continues to fight for the fundamental right to exist. For me, Baker epitomises the quintessential use of visual communication to unify, inspire, and challenge perspectives.
