I'm a queer, trans, nonbinary website and logo designer committed to collective liberation. Notably, I designed, built, and continue to maintain the website for Queer Liberation Library. Contact me to discuss any potential projects- I love what I do.
Queer Liberation Library In 2023, Max worked with a team of queer librarians to design and build the new permanent home for Queer Liberation Library (QLL). This six-week project designed QLL’s website to serve as an all-digital library for queer literature, including e-books and audiobooks. The site was built in anticipation of fundraising for the library. Max completed two weeks of user experience research—including first-click testing and remote, live user interviews to validate the design and navigation structures. Additionally, Max custom built a “Quick Exit” header (that allows users to quickly navigate away from the site for privacy) and a Dark Mode toggle, which toggles all the site components into a “dark mode” for accessibility. After launch, the website and its features caught the eye of several media outlets and was notably written up and praised by CNN. In late 2024, Max also helped the team integrate an advanced authentication flow into the site. This follow-up project involved designing and building the user login flow from the website to Libby in collaboration with an authentication and user management platform and Overdrive developers to ensure user security. www.queerliberationlibrary.org
Rainbow Collective for Change This project focused on creating an accessible and welcoming website designed around a previously created logo image. The goals were to build a digital space that represented the Rainbow Collective for Change, a non-profit in Durham, NC focused on inclusivity for LGBTQ families. The design ensured users could explore and be clear about RCC’s projects and services and have clear and direct pathways to make donations and contact the director for inquiries. rainbowcollectiveforchange.org
Southern Queer Survivor Network Max worked with the LGBTQ Center of Durham to create a digital home for their new program, the Southern Queer Survivor Network. This project integrated a live encrypted chat function and had increased security measures for victims to safely visit the site. www.sqsn.org
