How does being queer inform your work?

Being queer and trans allows me to make bold decisions in design that can be positively polarizing. I love taking unexpected, creative approaches that reference the subcultures that are a part of my own identity, and that appeal broadly because of their specificity.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I'm a fan of the leather subculture, and I think there's beauty in the juxtaposition of hard/soft that leather exemplifies. As a subculture, it's unendingly diverse even within specific subsets and the visual and emotional diversity offer in turn unending avenues for expression of beauty.

Which other queer people inspire you?

I'm very inspired by queer tattoo artists. One of my favorite books is an art book compiling queer tattoo artists and I love seeing the ways that queerness finds visual expression in their work.
