How does being queer inform your work?

Being queer influences my work by deepening my commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. It drives me to design with empathy, ensuring that everyone feels represented and valued. My experiences help me understand the diverse needs of users, pushing me to create solutions that are not only functional but also welcoming and accessible to all.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I love the Pride flag in all its variations. Its evolving colors and design beautifully represent a spectrum of identities, celebrating unity and diversity. It’s a symbol that resonates deeply with me.

Which other queer people inspire you?

I’m inspired by Carolin Bertozzi for her groundbreaking work in biochemistry, Ben Barres for his contributions to neuroscience and advocacy for gender equality, and Martine Rothblatt for her pioneering work in technology and advocacy for transgender rights. Alan Turing’s profound impact on computing and his personal story of resilience are also incredibly motivating. Sam Altman’s leadership and vision in technology inspire me with their focus on innovation and progress. Their achievements and courage inspire me to bring the same passion and dedication to my own work.
