How does being queer inform your work?

I am a strong supporter of the statement "personal is political." I work from personal experiences, so I produce images that reflect different sides of my everyday life.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I think part of queer identities includes honouring the legacy of queer history; visual and otherwise. We have been blessed with rich history to inspire us to continue creating queer culture. My biggest references for this are the 1990 documentary Paris is Burning and any collection of old photographs of queer people creating community back in the day.

Which other queer people inspire you?

I'm obsessed with my chosen family - I am surrounded by some of the most brilliant minds I know. I'm also inspired by celebs like Alok Vaid-Menon, Vivek Shraya, Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega, Cat Frazier, Felix d'Eon
