I'm a game designer, writer and academic. I make things about monsters, strange collaborations, and worldbuilding.

How does being queer inform your work?

I think of being non-binary as a kind of worldbuilding: to find and express my own gender I have to imagine a world where that gender exists. Speculative fiction and game design are important to me for that reason: they allow me to make places where I can feel real and comfortable and seen, even if only in a fictional place and only temporarily.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

Mad Max: Fury Road and Revolutionary Girl Utena are my two favorites.

Which other queer people inspire you?

My mentors and peers making amazing queer games at the Queerness and Games Conference are incredibly inspiring to me.
