Townsville, Queensland, Australia

I am a queer person who lives in regional North Queensland. I design websites and brands for people that are passionate about their work.

How does being queer inform your work?

Being queer informs my life, it's a key part of my identity and it shapes who I am and how I move through the world, as an extension of that it informs my work. Being queer is a useful reminder that everything that I design and work on shouldn't just be marketed towards the masses, it should work to engage with minority groups as well.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I love Tom of Finland, it's so unabashedly unashamed. What queer visual culture do I absorb most though? That would be queer media, I love queer tv shows and movies, I love queer comics (shout out to Joe Glass), and I love drag as an art form.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Tom Oxnam, an amazing queer artist in Australia. Jade McAuley a business owner and creative agency owner in regional Queensland. In fact I thought about it and this list is going to be a lot of people I know that are not well known. I'm inspired by queer people that I work with who are open about who they are and they let that shape their work and ethic.
