How does being queer inform your work?

As a queer individual, I always keep asking myself how diversity helps inform universal design. Additionally, I keep finding my identity as a source of production for my work, as the pride I feel towards my identity keeps fueling new ideas.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I love the work Joel Sanders and his team Stalled! have done to producing new restroom typologies to include universal multi-stall restrooms that exist outside a gender binary. While some may not call it visual culture, looking at all the amazing diagrams they have produced on this project is an absolute treat, and I really recommend everyone check it out!

Which other queer people inspire you?

As stated before, Joel Sanders is extremely inspiring. Additionally, all my queer friends and creatives constantly inspire me. The work they produce is just amazing from all sectors of design, and it makes me so happy to even have the chance to know them.
